Review of La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita was a great experience for ambiance, romance, and an ok meal. The decor is fantastic, and the service is great, however the food was underwhelming for the price.
Service -Rating: ★★★★☆

They had a live singer who was tremendous, and the tables are nicely spaced under nice romantic lighting.

Appetizer – We had Mozzarella Caprese, it was by far the best part of the meal

Main Course – Ash had Shrimp Scampi and I went with the Mixed Grill. The Scampi was ok, not what we expected from Scampi. It was more like a pasta with a seafood sauce over it rather than shrimp broiled in butter and garlic and added to noodles. The Mixed Grill was also average at best. The shrimp was burned and rubbery, but still had an ok taste. The meat was not high quality, and had the texture of a pot roast.

Dessert – We had creme brulee, and sadly it too had a slightly burned taste, it had obviously been sitting in a fridge for a long period of time. The bottom of the creme brulee seemed curdled. The decaf was good though.
FoodRating: ★★½☆☆

Drinks – Ash is pregnant, so we’re on the shirley temple train.

Check – We escaped for just under $85.00 including tip.
PriceRating: ★★★☆☆

Overall – A great place for a date with excellent service and friendly staff, but for the price we expected more from the food.

Overall Rating: ★★★½☆
